About SDD
The Statistics for Development Division (SDD) is one of SPC’s nine technical divisions and operates from SPC’s headquarters in Noumea, New Caledonia.
The SDD team is comprised of statistical experts including demographers, economists, epidemiologists and social statisticians working alongside technological experts in geographic information systems, database development, data-processing and web development - all supported by highly skilled publications, project management and financial planning staff.

TRUSTED PACIFIC DATA SUPPORTING WELL INFORMED POLICY DECISIONS THAT HELP IMPROVE PACIFIC PEOPLE’S LIVES
All SDD activities are guided by the regional Ten Year Pacific Statistics Strategy (TYPSS) 2010–2020, which outlines the timing of priority activities and achievement of specific strategic outcomes over the period of its three distinct phases. Phase 3 of TYPSS for the period 2018–2020 was endorsed at the 2017 Heads of Planning and Statistics (HoPS) Meeting.
Regional Statistics Partnership Program
The Heads of Planning and Statistics (HOPS) Meeting in November 2017 endorsed the regional statistics partnership program aimed at ensuring that development and donor partners coordinate their work and funding programs in the region so that there is coherent, efficient and cost effective support program provided to regional statistics development in the Pacific.
