'The workshops are part of the one-year training programme aimed at strengthening the statistical capacities in the Asia-Pacific Small Island Developing States in the context of SDG monitoring requirements, and implemented in partnership with UN Statistics Division, the Pacific Community and UNESCAP. The programme benefits from the funding support of the Italian Government.'

At the two sub-regional workshops held in September, training was provided to give PICTs a better understanding of some of the priority Tier 1 and Tier 2 SDG indicators. These included: poverty analysis, government finance and budgets, gender, remittances NCD mortality and health sector preparedness.
