The mission will aim to address the following key areas:

  1. To support the development of the indicator framework for the next Kiribati Development Plan (KDP 2024-2027)
  2. To support the development of the indicator frameworks for the next Ministry Strategic Plans (MSPs).
  3. Provide training to staff in NEPO, NSO and Line Ministries on indicator production and monitoring
  4. To provide inputs in to the production of the next Kiribati National Strategy for the Development of Statistics
  5. To ensure Global and Regional Initiatives (e.g. SDGs, SIDS Agenda, 2050 Strategy for a Blue Pacific) are suitably addressed in the development of KDP & MSPs indicator frameworks.

    National Economic Planning Office (NEPO), National Statistics Office (NSO).
     
  • Line Ministries:
    MELAD, MISE, MTCIC, MICT, MFED, MFMRD, MCIA, MOE, MOJ, MFAI, PSO, OB, MHMS, MLPID, MEHR, MWYSSA.
C. Key Activities of Mission
  1. Training: Trainings will be provided to staff in National Statistics Office, National Economic Planning Office, and Line Ministries on how to develop indicator frameworks for monitoring the progress of indicators/issues outlined in the next Kiribati Development Plan (KDP) and Ministerial Sector Plans (MSPs). 
  2. Bilateral meetings with Line Ministries: One-to-one consultation with all relevant Line Ministries to discuss further their MSP indicator framework and contributions to the Kiribati Development Plan.
  3. Work with NSO on NSDS: Provide inputs in to the development of Kiribati's next National Strategy for the Development of Statistics (NSDS), to cover the work required to monitor the progress of the next KDP and MSPs.
