The Cook Islands Government have in place their national planning processes for the next 5, 25 and 100 years, known as the “Te Ara Akapapa’anga Nui NSDA 2020+”. As part of this process a 5-year plan (Te Kaveinga iti) has been established, focused on well-being, for which an indicator framework has been developed to measure progress covering 15 Goals (72 Indicators).
This joint workshop with ESCAP Pacific and the Cook Islands government will cover the following key areas:
1. A stock-take of what current reporting priorities exist in Cook Islands
- Assessment of what is and isn’t working well
2. Review of the Cook Islands NSDA 2020+
- Update on review thus far undertaken by ESCAP
- Introduction to indicator “soundness” criteria
3. Introduction to indicator "soundness" criteria
- Discuss Cook Islands preferences for reporting against these priorities
4. Present updates on Global and Regional priorities in the Pacific, including the SDGs, 2050 Strategy for a Blue Pacific Continent and the Antigua and Barbados Agenda for SIDS (ABAS)
5. Discuss Cook Islands preferences for reporting against these priorities
