The Statistics for Development Division of the Pacific Community (SPC), in collaboration with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) Statistics Division and the Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific (SIAP), will facilitate an introductory webinar on the 2025 System of National Accounts (SNA) on 25 March 2025 for the Pacific region virtually. Registration to participate in the webinar should be done through this link. A meeting link will be provided to registered participants.
The webinar targets statisticians with knowledge and experience in collecting, compiling, and communicating national accounts statistics. This includes national statistical offices, central banks, and similar organizations.
This webinar will inform the statistical community about the key features of the 2025 SNA and the transition process. Specifically, it will:
- Provide an overview of the main changes introduced in the 2025 SNA compared to the 2008 SNA and their implications for statistical systems in the Asia-Pacific region. These changes include conceptual, methodological, and presentation updates, their impact on GDP and NDP calculations, and additional data requirements in the new framework.
- Discuss the high-level implementation plan, focusing on how international organizations will support the adoption of the 2025 SNA in the Asia-Pacific region.

The webinar will be organized on 25 March 2025, 09:00-10:30 (UTC+9). The deadline for receipt of nominations is 17 March 2025. The sessions will be conducted in English without interpretation. Invitation letters will be sent to relevant organisations for nominations and registrations. The webinar recording and presentations will be made available on the SIAP e-learning website.
