Across SPC there are approximately 16 Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Advisers positions whose role it is to work within a SPC Division or project to ensure technical expertise and advice on gender equality, human rights, disability and social inclusion for SPC staff and member states.

This group of technical advisers can provide support for each other’s work, share tools and resources, and ensure there is a mutual understanding of GESI/GEDSI and how this relates to the implementation of the People Centred Approach, across all SPC work and within the workplace. This learning event aims to:

  • Strengthen relationships and collaboration among GESI advisers across SPC divisions and projects, creating a supportive and unified network to share tools, resources, and strategies.
  • Build the technical expertise of GESI advisers in gender equality, human rights, disability inclusion, and social inclusion, focusing on applying these principles across diverse sectors and projects.
  • Deepen mutual understanding of GESI/GEDSI concepts and their integration into the People-Centred Approach, ensuring consistency in how these are applied across SPC's work and internal practices.
