Funded by the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and held annually since 2011, the forum plays an important role in supporting the development of Government Statisticians and other senior managers of National Statistics Offices (NSOs) in the Pacific. As per previous years, the forum is an opportunity for participants to:
- engage with their peers on the challenges and opportunities facing Government Statisticians in the Pacific Region, and to share learnings which can lead to success
- strengthen the influence, credibility and effectiveness of NSOs
- enhance the accessibility and utilisation of statistics
- agree on strategies to increase the visibility of statistics; and
- develop formal and informal relationships with key stakeholders
