The Pacific Community in association with IOM are organising this side event as part of the Third Ministerial Conference on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics in Asia and the Pacific. The side event on “CRVS and Legal Identity - The Mobility Dimension” will explore how Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) intersects with the need to ensure evidence of identity (EOI) and how EOI is a foundation for regular migration and mobility pathways. It will highlight regional and national experiences, good practices, and challenges in ensuring that mobile populations are not left behind in the pursuit of universal legal identity, in line with SDG Target 16.9 and the Objective 4 of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration.
