Meeting objectives
The Pacific Community (SPC) with funding from Bloomberg Philanthropies Data for Health Initiative will hold two meetings and carry out fieldwork in Palau in February 2026. The meetings will bring together the Palau CRVS Committee and key stakeholders with the purpose of refreshing participants understanding and knowledge of the Business Process Mapping project, which was started in 2024, and furthering discussions around the Regional Coding Service (RCS). The meetings will also focus on agreeing next steps and ascertaining future support to Palau in various aspects of CRVS system strengthening.
Activities will include the following:
- Business process mapping and analysis of end-to-end processes for vital life events (Births, Deaths, Marriages);
- Revisiting and refreshing the current CRVS Action Plan;
- Seeking agreement to enable Palau’s inclusion in the regional cause-of-death (CoD) coding service for the Pacific.
