SPC will host a one-day workshop on 18 February 2026,dedicated to building capacity for the effective implementation of the Pacific Regional Guidebook on Disability Statistics and corresponding statistical toolkit.The workshop aims to familiarise national statistics offices (NSOs), donors, partners,countries and data users with the Pacific Regional Guidebook on Disability Statistics and its role in improving disability statistics. It seeks to build a shared understanding of disability measurement using internationally endorsed approaches. The workshop also aims to strengthen collaboration between NSOs, development partners and data users,while promoting the production of consistent and comparable disability statistics across the Pacific region.
Objectives
Strengthen participants’ technical knowledge of disability statistics and provide practical experience in applying the guidebook’s tools for data collection, analysis, and dissemination.
Enable NSOs to confidently integrate and apply the guidebook in upcoming statistical activities.
Enhance participants’ understanding of capacity‑building needs and available opportunities for support.
Facilitate the identification of priority actions to improve disability data, including next steps for implementation, coordination, and regional harmonisation.
