The Gender and Disability Monographs data interpretation Workshop responds to the need for reliable, disaggregated data that captures gender and disability statistics to inform inclusive policies.
This need arises from persistent gaps in understanding of the barriers faced by women, men, and persons with disabilities across the Pacific, which in turn hinder evidence-based decision-making and progress toward SDGs and CRPD commitments. The data interpretation workshop will enable Solomon Islands stakeholders to validate and interpret the findings from the gender and disability monographs, thereby strengthening national capacity for evidence-based decision-making.
Workshop objectives
- Enhance understanding of how gender and disability intersect and influence social and economic outcomes.
- Validate key findings from the gender and disability monographs to ensure accuracy and contextual relevance.
- Strengthen stakeholder capacity to interpret gender and disability data from the Solomon Islands 2019 Census.
- Promote dialogue among government line ministries, civil society organisations, and development partners.
- Confirm the finalisation process and timeline for the Solomon Islands Gender and Disability Monographs based on the 2019 Census.
