This is a face-to-face course, developed jointly by World Bank, and SPC in collaboration with the ADB specifically for Pacific Island Countries and Territories (PICT). It aims to focus on the practical implementation of ICP price collection in a Pacific context while also introducing concepts and theory of ICP that reflect official guidelines and best practice as described in the ICP Manual.
Workshop objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Explain core findings and learnings at a regional-level from the price collection phase of ICP.
- Identify and explain differences between the ICP validation techniques.
- Understand the importance of national accounts household expenditure and its use in the ICP.
- Understand the ICP's use of supplementary data for: Rent, Government compensation of employees, and Education fees.
