Expanding its presence and partnerships outreach in the region, the Pacific Community (SPC)’s Statistics for Development Division has opened a second base in Suva, Fiji.

Improving the inclusion of people with disabilities in official data and decision-making is at the heart of a partnership of Pacific organisations, with a multi-year project funded by Australia launched this International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Statistics leaders from 14 Pacific countries and territories—as well as representatives from 10 international development organisations, including the Pacific Community (SPC)—meet in Vanuatu next week to discuss the major statistical matters and decisions facing the region.
