The newly Pacific Statistical/Economic Briefing established dashboard summarises the latest available information on the leading economic indicators for the Covid-19 Economic impacts in the first quarter of 2022.
During the onset of COVID-19, the CSTS team of the Pacific Community (SPC) provided remote technical support to the National Statistics Offices of the Pacific region in their round robin of household surveys. Since March 2020, the CSTS team has supported the implementing 10 censuses and 7 HIES.
For the compilation of statistics data needs to be organised into homogenous groups with common characteristics. Statistical classifications facilitate this; they form the basis for the production of reliable and methodologically sound statistics to inform policymaking.
“Finding so much data on this small island country accessible in a single place and so well documented has been an unexpected treasure”, said political economy professor, William Mishler.
