About Elizabeth

Elizabeth Ragimana joined SPC in 2020, first as Statistics Adviser for Strategic Planning, Monitoring and Analysis. She was previously Manager of Research and Statistics at the Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) supporting member countries in tourism data collection, analysis, publications, capacity-building, coordination and strategic plans. At a national level, she served as Manager of Economics, Research and Statistics for the Central Bank of the Solomon Islands, monitoring and formulating economic policies and advising the government. She’s spent 17 years as a senior research/statistics analyst in administrative/economics data (balance of payments, monetary, government finance and national accounts).

Her current role at SPC started in April 2023 supporting members and partners in strengthening governance and coordination. She holds a master’s degree in economics, a bachelor’s degree in economics and management, and a diploma in business and administration.

How I support stakeholders

  • Supporting member countries, territories and partners in building and strengthening relationships and stakeholder engagement through regular conversations and the sharing of common interests, challenges and priorities
  • Strengthening regional governance through organising and coordinating governance meetings and papers
  • Coordinating support for statistics in the region from various partners
  • Strengthening statistical systems to meet needs for policy, planning and monitoring (e.g. developing/updating country statistics system profiles, national statistics development strategies, etc.)
