About Kelesita
Kelesita Mataitonga joined SPC in 2025. Before that, she worked in the Health Information Department of Fiji’s Ministry of Health and Medical Services for more than 15 years with experience in clinical coding on both morbidity and mortality data. She also worked with the Fiji Program Support Facility for two years and transitioned to Fiji Program Support Platform based at the Health Information Department as a Health Information Officer/Clinical Coder. She holds a bachelor’s degree in health information management.
How I support stakeholders
- Supporting Pacific Island countries and territories in strengthening civil registration practice
- Supporting Pacific Island countries and territories in analysing vital statistics and causes-of-death data
- Providing support in terms of certification, coding and reporting of causes-of-death data in Pacific Island countries and territories
- Providing support in training design and delivery of various initiatives to national counterparts.
