About Nilima

Nilima Lal joined SPC in 2011 as an Economic Statistician having previously worked for the Fiji Bureau of Statistics where she was Manager of the Economic Statistics Division. Nilima is highly experienced in business and international trade statistics, and has a sound knowledge of economic and international trade statistical classifications.

Nilima is retiring in 2025.

How I support stakeholders

Overseeing and implementing economic statistics development work with a primary focus on trade statistics, formal and informal business statistics and statistical standards, and undertakes analysis and supports dissemination of these data
Providing statistical technical support and training to improve the accessibility, timeliness, accuracy, relevance and coherence of trade statistics, business registry data and other economic statistics across the Pacific region
Promoting a programmatic approach to the use of statistics within SPC and promoting cross-sectoral understanding at the national level.
