The Pacific Community (SPC) is organising a Regional Conference on Household Income and Expenditure Surveys (HIES) Methods and Poverty Analysis Methods for ten Pacific countries (Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Rep. of Marshal Islands, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu).

The Pacific Civil Registrars Network (PCRN) was created in 2014. Our vision is that by 2024 the Civil Registrars across the Pacific will work together in ways that are flexible to local needs, with a shared approach to legislative change, enabling technology and data exchange. We provide an opportunity to share information, lessons learned and good practice.

​The Pacific Community (SPC) in collaboration with Brisbane Accord Group (BAG) partners will run workshops for Pacific Island Countries and Territories (PICTs) on medical certification of cause of death (MCCD) and ICD mortality coding, funded by the Bloomberg Philanthropies Data for Health Initiative. The workshops will also provide guidance on the new version of ICD (ICD-11).

The Brisbane Accord Group (BAG) is a consortium of agencies with a principal aim of coordinating partner support and maximizing investments made towards supporting the improvement of civil registration and vital statistics systems in Pacific Island countries and territories.

The Fourth UN World Data Forum 2023 is scheduled to take place in Hangzhou, China, in April 2023. The UN World Data Forum aims to spur data innovation, nurture partnerships, mobilise high-level political and financial support for data, and build a pathway to better data for sustainable development.

​The 2023 Pacific Statisticians' Leadership Forum, hosted by the Australia Bureau of Statistics (ABS) will be held on Monday 8^th and Tuesday 9^th May 2023 in Brisbane, Australia.

Background
