​PARIS21 together with UNDESA, UN-OHRLLS, SPC, Caricom and Caribank organised the 5^th Round Table Meeting on Statistics in Small Island Developing States (SIDS). The meeting brought together a broad range of development partners and country representatives from a range of SIDS and focused on pressing statistical issues in their countries.

The Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) is an annual and inclusive intergovernmental forum and a regional platform for supporting countries, in particular those with special needs, in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development while serving as a regional preparatory meeting to the high-level political forum. 

During the ongoing 2020 round of Population and Housing Censuses there has been an increasing interest in using administrative data across Asia-Pacific. While some countries, such as Turkey and Korea, are continuing a transition begun in earlier census rounds, others, such as Indonesia, are exploring the use of administrative data in their census for the first time.

Population ageing is a megatrend in Asia and the Pacific, and it is rapidly increasing. In 2020, sixty per cent of the world’s older persons resided in the region, or some 630 million persons 60 years or over. By 2050, it is projected that one quarter of the population of Asia and the Pacific will be older, some 1.3 billion people.

​The Pacific Statistics Methods Board was established to provide oversight and guidance on the statistical methods, systems and procedures used by Pacific Island Countries and Territories. This is to ensure that they are in line with international best practices, while at the same time relevant to our region’s unique situation.​

On the sidelines of the 53^rd  UN Statistical Commission, Paris21 will hold the 5^th Round Table Meeting of Small Island Developing States with the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), the Pacific Community (SPC), the UN DESA, the UN-OHRLLS and more.

​The Committee of Experts on food security, agricultural and rural statistics aims to develop and document good practices and guidelines on concepts, methods and statistical standards for food security, sustainable agriculture and rural development statistics.
